Provider Essentials of Wound Care
This offering is for new providers (physician/midlevel) to the Wound Care Center who are exempted from LIVE!
Provider Essentials Training
Topics include evidence-based essential care and advanced modalities for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic wounds including advanced dressings, skin subs, compression, NPWT, TCC, HBO, and debridement. This offering meets the requirement to obtain wound care privileges and up to 10 CMEs may be awarded.
This training should be completed within 6 weeks after enrollment. Course completion and a validated wound care privilege letter are required prior to seeing patients in the center.
Any provider requiring HBO privileges must also complete the 40-hour HBO Supervision course.
Provider HBO Supervision
- Recognize the scientific basis of Hyperbaric Medicine and apply this understanding to patient care
- Discuss the clinical applications of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
- Employ therapeutic approaches in Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care
- Identify all key operational components of a hyperbaric chamber
- Understand operational safety and fire awareness
- Integrate into their practices the knowledge obtained through didactic lectures and clinical case studies
Emergency Chamber Operator Initial & Annual Competencies
Providers may be competencied as Emergency Chamber Operators after completing Provider 101 Essentials of Wound Care. Emergency Chamber Operators can only remove a patient from a chamber.
Providers who are Emergency Chamber Operators complete a brief Emergency Chamber Operations Annual Competency once a year.
